Murphy Captures Back-to-Back Wins; Women's Cross Country Finishes Third at Wittenberg Invitational

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection Hope Murphy (Mogadore) wins the Wittenberg Invitational on the Clark County Fairgrounds as the Baldwin Wallace University women's cross country team placed third.

BW placed third of 10 teams with a total of 84 points. Ohio Northern University took home the win with 40 points.

BW was led in the 6K event by:

  • Murphy captured back-to-back invitational wins as she placed 1st out of 96 runners at a time of 22:58.8, this is her third career win. 
  • Junior Academic All-OAC performer Maddie Miller (Medina) placed 19th in a time of 25:08.7.
  • Freshman Charlotte Jones ( Brecksville / Brecksville-Broadview Heights) finished 25th in a time of 25:28.6
  • Sophomore Jaelyn Jaquay (Cherry Valley, N.Y. / Springfield Central) placed 26th in time of 25:30.6
  • Sophomore Cassie Kolonchuk (Canal Winchester) finished 27th in a time of 25:40.3

The Yellow Jackets will return to the course on Friday, September 16th when they travel to Cedarville to compete in the All-Ohio Championships on the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.
