Women's Tennis Splits a Pair of Non-Conference Matches

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team split a pair of non-conference matches against Washington (Md.) University and Marywood (Pa.) University on the second day of it's spring break trip.

BW vs Washington

BW (3-7) fell to Washington 9-0. The closest doubles match was an 8-7 final from the tandem of junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference and All-OAC Ashtyn Morris (Salem) and junior two-time All-OAC Jayde Robinson (Cincinnati/School for Creative & Performing Arts).

Robinson managed a 6-3, 6-2 score line in No. 1 singles for the nearest singles match from the Yellow Jackets.

BW vs Marywood

BW defeated Marywood 9-0. Morris and Robinson secured No. 1 doubles with an 8-1 score. In No. 2 doubles, senior Academic All-OAC Becca Liebler (Medina) and freshman Elizabeth Cole (Shaker Heights) took an 8-3 score. Junior Academic All-OAC Emma Hubbard (Ortonville, Mich./Brandon High School) and freshmen Kailin Breedlove (Parma) grabbed No. 3 doubles by way of 8-3.

Morris won No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-1 score line and Robinson secured No. 2 singles with a 6-2, 6-0 score line. Liebler claimed a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles and Cole corralled No. 4 singles with consecutive 6-2 scores. In No. 5 singles, Hubbard seized a 6-3 6-2 victory. Breedlove claimed a three-set victory after winning the first match 6-3 and dropping the second set 6-1.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action Wednesday, March, 11 for a match against Franciscan University at 6:30 p.m.
