Women's Tennis Competes at ITA Championships

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Over the weekend, the Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team competed in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Regionals through September 19-21.

Junior Academic All-OAC and All-OAC Ashtyn Morris (Salem) and junior two-time All-OAC Jayde Robinson (Cincinnati/School for Creative & Performing Arts) teamed up for BW (1-1) at the ITA's. The duo dropped their opening match of the tournament, 8-3, to Lauren Park and Brigitte Wu of the University (Ill.) of Chicago.

In the consolation round, the combination defeated Patrycia Miazek and Linn Viuhkonen of North Park (Ill.) University, 8-5. The pair then fell to Leeza Bodnar and Lulie Lord of Lake Forest (Ill.) College, 8-4.

In singles play, Robinson dropped her opening match to Leah Newhof of Hope (Mich.) College, 6-1 and 6-3. Morris was halted in her match by Claire Hallock of Hope College after scores of 6-1 and 6-0.

BW hits the courts next on Thursday, September 26 at Adrian (Mich.) College at 3:30 pm.
