Yellow Jacket Swimming & Diving Teams Win at Defiance

DEFIANCE, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College women's swimming and diving teams defeated host Defiance University today (Friday, November 11, 2011).

The B-W women were victorious by a score of 82-57. With the win, the women are now 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the OAC.

The women were led by freshman Kayla Eyster (Canton, Mich./ Plymouth-Canton) who individually won the 200-yard free in 2:11.7 and helped both the 200 free and 200 medley relay teams each win. The team of Eyster, sophomores Angela Musille (Canton/ GlenOak) and Emma Gerdes (Avon) and freshman Caitlin Wilson (Wycombe, Pa./ Council Rock North) won the 200 medley relay in 2:01.73, and  the team of Eyster, Musille, junior Kelsey Richards (Wadsworth), and Katie Cvelbar (South Euclid/ Regina) finished first in the 200 free relay in 1:50.91.

In addition, freshman Carli Dugan (Mentor) won the 1000 free in 12:17.94, Musille won the 400 IM in 5:03.88, Gerdes won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:04.59 and freshman Emily Payne (Ligonier, Pa./ Ligonier Valley) won 100 breaststroke in 1:18.83.

Four-time NCAA Division III All-American junior diver Julie Pinter (Broadview Heights/ Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) won the 1-meter event with 239.6  points.

The Yellow Jackets return to action tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 12 when they host Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) College in the B-W Natatorium at 1:00 p.m.
