With its loss, the Yellow Jackets move to 3-4 overall. Lake Erie, in its inaugural season of wrestling, improves to 2-3 on the season.
For BW, senior 174-pounder Andrew Scavuzzo (Cuyahoga Falls/Woodridge) remained unbeaten this season with a 3-2 victory over Lake Erie's Josh Linden. Scavuzzo, ranked 10th in Division III at 174 pounds by the National Wrestling Coaches Association Brute-adidas national poll, improved his overall record to 15-0.
Also scoring wins for BW were senior 197-pounder Tristan Stoll (Milan/Edison) who won by pin in 2:05 against LEC's Bobby Hager and sophomore 184-pounder Joe Georgian (Eastlake/Villa Angela-St. Joseph)who scored a 5-2 decision against Jared Merritt. Stoll improved his record to 8-1 this season with the victory and Georgian improved to 4-1 at 184 and 7-3 overall. The pin was Stoll's third of the season.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on December 20-22 when they travel to Las Vegas, Nevada to compete at the Annual Desert Duals Tournament at the Flamingo Resort & Casino.
