LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse team was upended it its spring break trip finale, suffering a 19-2 loss against the University of Lynchburg (Va.) on Shellenberger Field.

BW's (2-5) limited offense was monopolized by All-Ohio Athletic Conference attacker and team-leading scorer Brie Martineau (Strongsville), who recorded the lone two Yellow Jackets goals in this afternoon's contest. With her two goals, Martineau eclipsed 100 goals for her career, in addition to passing Megan Patrick (2016-2019) for sole possession of fifth place on the program's all-time points list with 135 points for her career. She became just the fifth player in program history to reach the 100-goal plateau, joining the likes of Maddie Russell (152), Caitlin Wheeler (127), Hannah Albrechta (120), and Megan Patrick (111).

BW senior All-OAC goalkeeper Ashleigh Hildreth (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Sweet Home) stopped six of 25 total shots faced, and saw her record drop to 2-5 on the year.

Lynchburg (3-2) asserted its control of the game in the first half, outscoring the Yellow Jackets 13-1 overall, including a seven-goal run in the first 10:03 of action. Martineau netted her first goal of the game at the 16:58 mark but the Hornets were relentless, potting another six goals afterwards to take a commanding lead prior to the intermission.

Lynchburg's six-goal run ballooned to 11 as it unyieldingly continued to apply its offense in the second half. Martineau was able to notch her second score of the game and team-leading 18th of the season at the 2:56 mark but that was all the BW could muster as time expired.

The Yellow Jackets will hope to snap out of its losing funk when it travels to Meadville, Pennsylvania on Saturday, March 14 for their final non-conference matchup of the season against Allegheny (Pa.) College on Frank B. Fuhrer Field at 11:00 a.m.
