Hildreth Garners First Career OAC Defensive Player of the Week Award

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference goalkeeper Ashleigh Hildreth (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Sweet Home) has been named the OAC Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career.

In her team's opening week of the 2020 season, Hildreth led BW in between the pipes for two non-conference victories to start the year. In Wednesday's home and season opener against Ohio Wesleyan University, Hildreth stopped eight of 16 shots faced on route to a 13-8 win. She then followed up that performance by earning a 13-7 road victory over Centre (Ky.) College, making 11 saves on 18 total shots. Her two-game weekly totals showcased a 7.68 goals against average and 55.9 save percentage. She is now ranked first in save percentage and second in goals against average amongst OAC netminders.

For her career, Hildreth owns a 16-17 collegiate record, with a 12.56 goals against average and 42.5 save percentage. She is also in sole possession of three program records with 283 career saves, 155 saves in a season, and 18 saves in a game.

BW returns to the field on Saturday, February 29 when it hosts the College of Wooster for a non-conference matchup in George Finnie Stadium at 1:00 p.m.
