ALLIANCE, Ohio – The fourth-seeded Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse team fell 21-7 to the University of Mount Union in an Ohio Athletic Conference semifinal game inside Mount Union Stadium.

Junior All-OAC attack Hannah Albrechta (Uniontown/Green) led BW (7-10 overall) with three goals. Freshman defender/midfielder Christina Roskoph (Strongsville) netted two goals while sophomore midfielder Savanna Jaekle (Lockport, N.Y.) added one goal and one assist. Senior attack Caitlin Wheeler (Lake Mills, Wis./Oak Park-River Forest {Ill.}) finished off her time at BW with one goal to finish with 127 career goals, second all-time in program history. Freshman goalkeeper Ashleigh Hildreth (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Sweet Home) recorded nine saves to finish the year with 127 stops, second in program history. 

Junior attack Ashley Bernardi led Mount Union (16-0) with a game-high seven goals. Sophomore attack Danielle Rohrman chipped in five goals and two assists for seven points. Freshman attack Sydney Bumbarger scored three goals of her own. Sophomore midfielder Kenzie Pensyl added two goals and two assists while senior midfielder Marjie McNamara finished off the multi-goal scorers with two goals and one assist.

Mount Union opened up the game with a 5-0 run before Jaekle got the Yellow Jackets on the scoreboard with 22:19 left in the first half. Each team traded goals for the next 10 minutes as BW cut the Purple Raider lead in half at 8-4 at the 12:53 mark. Forced into taking a timeout, Mount Union was able to regroup and rip off another 5-0 run to take 13-4 lead. Roskoph put an end to the run with her second goal of the night but the Purple Raiders would add two more goals before intermission for a 15-5 lead.

With a running clock in effect to start the second half, Mount Union added two goals in the first few minutes. However, the Yellow Jacket defense was able to keep the Purple Raiders off the scoreboard for over 10 minutes. Mount Union would finish off the game scoring four of the last six goals to cruise to the 21-7 victory.

BW finishes the 2018 season with an overall record of 7-10 and a 5-3 record in the OAC. Mount Union will host third-seeded Capital University in the OAC Championship on Saturday, May 5.
