WOOSTER, OH. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team carded a first round total of 352 strokes today (Saturday, September 21, 2013) to stand first of ten teams at the two-day and 36-hole The College of Wooster Fall Invitational Tournament at the Wooster Country Club. The second and final day of play starts tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.

The Yellow Jackets, winners of two of the past three Ohio Athletic Conference titles and berths in two of the last three NCAA Division III national tournaments, were led by senior Miranda Cunningham (Dayton/Dayton Christian) who carded an 18-hole round of 89 to lead all individuals on the par-72 and 5,802-yard Wooster C.C. layout.

She was followed by senior Rebecca Jones (Hilliard/Darby), who had and round of 89; senior Emilee Woolf (Ravenna), who had a round of 90; sophomore Laura Vidmar (Willoughby/South), who had a round of 93; and freshman Olivia Pacheco (Canfield) who had a round of 107.

Following tomorrow's final round at Wooster, the BW women compete in the final fall event on Saturday and Sunday, October 12-13 when they travel to Springfield, Ohio to play at the Wiitenberg University "Clash at the Clouse" Tournament.

The BW women play in four fall tournaments and its season is split into a fall (four tournaments) and spring (six tournaments, including the OAC Championship) season.  The winner of the OAC Tournament automatically qualifies for the 2014 NCAA Division III National Tournament.
