BW Women’s Golfers Finish Sixth at George Fox Tourney in Arizona

PEORIA, ARIZONA -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team finished sixth of six teams at annual George Fox University Westbrook Invitational, hosted by George Fox (ore.) University at the Westbrook Village Golf Course. BW, which is listed in the "Others Receiving Votes" in the Golf World / Women's Golf Coaches Association NCAA Division III national poll, was joined by five teams ranked in the Top-22 in the poll.

Also joining BW in Phoenix were No.2-ranked Washington (Mo.) University, No.9 Redlands (Calif.) University, No.14 George Fox (Ore.) University, No.19 Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.) University and No.22 Wartburg (Iowa) College.

BW carded a rounds of 331 and 332 for a two-day total of 663 strokes on the par-72 and 5,667-yard Westbrook Village G.C. layout. No.2-ranked "Wash. U." won the tournament by one stroke with a 622 total.

BW was led by senior All-OAC player Rebecca Jones (Hilliard/ Darby) with an 83 on the first day (Friday) and a career-low 77 today for a 160-stroke total to tie for 11th individually. She was followed by senior All-OAC standout Emilee Woolf (Ravenna) with scores of 78 and 83 for 161 strokes and a tie for 14th place, senior All-OAC player Miranda Cunningham (Dayton/ Christian) with rounds of 87 and 80 for a 167 total and a tie for 29th, and sophomore Laura Vidmar (Willloughby/ South) with an 83 and 92 for a 175 total and 35th place.

BW returns to action up north on Sunday-Monday, March 23-24 when they travel to Alliance, Ohio to compete at the University of Mount Union Tournament.

The BW women's golf program has won two of the past three OAC titles and advanced to two of the past three NCAA Division III national tournaments.
