BW Women’s Golfers Second After Opening Round of OAC Championships

COLUMBIA STATION, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team stand in second of eight teams after the opening round of the two-day and 36-hole 2014 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship at the Columbia Hills Country Club. BW is the host school.

BW carded a first round total of 378 strokes and is just four strokes behind first-round leader Otterbein University on the 6,019 yard Columbia Hills C.C. layout.

The Yellow Jackets were led by senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference standout Emilee Woolf (Ravenna) with an 89. She was followed by sophomore Laura Vidmar (Willoughby/ South) with a 91, senior All-OAC player Miranda Cunningham (Brookville/ Dayton Christian) with an 94, junior Jenna Andreas (Pickerington/ North) with a career-low 104 and senior All-OAC player Rebecca Jones (Hilliard/ Darby) with a 105.

The second and final round will be played tomorrow (April 27) with the winner advancing to the 2014 NCAA Division III National Tournament.

BW has won two of the past three OAC titles.  The Yellow Jackets also won the 2011 and 2012 OAC titles and advanced to the national tournament.
