Women Stand Fourth After First Day of Denison Tourney

GRANVILLE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team carded a first round total of 358 strokes today (Saturday, September 7, 2013) to stand fourth of 13 teams at the two-day and 36-hole Denison University Fall Invitational Tournament at the Granville Golf Club.  The second and final day of play is tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.

The Yellow Jackets were led by two-time All-OAC senior Rebecca Jones (Hilliard/ Darby) who carded an 18-hole round of 84 on the par-71 and 6,200-yard Granville G.C. layout.

She was followed by two-time All-OAC senior Emilee Woolf (Ravenna), who had a round of 87; senior three-time All-OAC senior Miranda Cunningham (Dayton/ Dayton Christian), who had a round of 91; sophomore Laura Vidmar (Willoughby / South), who had a round of 96; and freshman Olivia Pacheco (Canfield) who had a round of 112.

BW is back in action on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 21-22 when they travel to Wooster, Ohio to compete at The College of Wooster Invitational Tournament. The BW women play in four fall tournaments and its season is split into a fall (four tournaments) and spring (six tournaments, including the OAC Championship) season.  The winner of the OAC Tournament automatically qualifies for the 2014 NCAA Division III National Tournament.
