Senior Amanda Schroeder is OAC Player of the Week

BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin Wallace University senior Amanda Schroeder (Columbus Grove) is this week's (December 6, 2010) Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, respectively, for her efforts last weekend.  This marks the third time in Schroeder's career that she has earned the honor.



Schroeder, a two-time first-team All-OAC player as well as an Academic All-OAC selection, earned her honor for scoring 43 points, grabbing 12 rebounds and making seven steals as the Yellow Jackets defeated Heidelberg University (67-50) and Kenyon College (73-63) last week. She connected on 14-of-21 shots from the floor for 66.7 percent, including 3-of-5 shots from three-point range for 60%, and canned 12-of-14 foul shots for 85.7%. Schroeder also had one assist and two blocked shots for the 5-1 overall Yellow Jackets.
 

In addition, Schroeder's 43 points last week now give her 1,072 in her career to rank her eighth on the all-time scoring list.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action this Saturday, Dec. 11 when they travel to Wilmington, Ohio to play the Wilmington College Quakers in the first game of a women's and then men's doubleheader at 2:00 p.m. The BW and Wilmington men meet at 4:00 p.m.
