NEW ORLEANS – The Baldwin Wallace University men's indoor track and field team made its return to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Team Rankings.
After being ranked No. 23 in Week 4, the Yellow Jackets jumped up six spots from Week 5 to Week 6, coming in at No. 22. The University of Mount Union, the only other Ohio Athletic Conference team to appear in the national rankings, remains at No. 2 after winning its seventh straight OAC Indoor Track and Field Championship this past weekend. Mount Union is also the top team in the Great Lakes Region while BW is ranked No. 10 regionally.
Three Yellow Jackets turned in All-OAC performances at the 2018 OAC Indoor Championships as senior All-OAC thrower Zak Dysert (McDonald, Pa./Fort Cherry) won the weight throw, junior All-American sprinter Jordan Leverette (Cleveland/John Adams) placed second in the 200-meter dash and sophomore All-OAC thrower Ted Achladis (Avon Lake/Elyria Catholic) took third in the shot put.
Select members of the BW track and field teams will compete at a "Last Chance" meet on Saturday, March 3, to try and hit a qualifying mark for the 2018 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field National Championship meet.
