Achladis Records Top-10 Finish at NCAA Championships

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Baldwin Wallace University sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference thrower Ted Achladis (Avon Lake/Elyria Catholic) registered one top-10 finish at the 2018 NCAA Division III National Championship Meet, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse at the Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.

On day one, Achladis placed ninth in the discus with a career-best toss of 162 feet, 11.25 inches. He had a previous season- and career-best of 162'1" at the Amy Adams Memorial Invitational, which ranked 21st in the country and earned him a spot at the national meet. In the shot put on the second day, Achladis finished 16th with a throw of 50'0.75". His season-best shot put mark came at the 2018 OAC Championships when he hit 53'1.5", which ranked him 18th nationally.

This outdoor season, Achladis earned his second and third career United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Great Lakes Region honors in the discus and shot put to go along with his All-OAC honors in the same events. This was the sophomore's first appearance at the National Championship meet.
