AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – After breaking a Baldwin Wallace University men's indoor track and field school record for the second consecutive week, junior All-American sprinter Jordan Leverette (Cleveland/John Adams) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week for the second time in his career.
Leverette finished the 60-meter dash preliminaries with the top time of 6.98 seconds, which was just 0.01 seconds off his career best. It was in the 60-meter dash finals that the junior broke the school record, winning the event in 6.84 seconds and earning his first All-Ohio honors in the 60-meter dash in the process. His school-record time of 6.84 seconds is the fourth-fastest time in NCAA Division III this season. Leverette also earned his second career Indoor All-Ohio honors in the 200-meter dash when he won the event in 22.09 seconds.
Leverette earned his All-American honors as a freshman in the 200-meter dash when he set a then-school record of 21.96 seconds at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships. He also holds the school record in the 200-meter dash, the 400-meter dash and is a member of the school record-holding 4x400-meter relay team.
BW will be back in action on Saturday, February 17, when the Yellow Jackets travel to Alliance to compete in the Raider Tune Up, hosted by Mount Union inside The McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex.
