Men's Track and Field Finishes Fifth at Outdoor OAC Championships

MUSKINGUM, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's track and field team finishes sixth at the two-day Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships hosted by Muskingum University on the Johnson Family Track.

BW finished sixth of 10 teams with a team score of 63. The University of Mount Union won with a score of 272. 

The Yellow Jackets were led by junior Cody Smith (Port Clinton), junior Zak Dysert (McDonald, Pa./Fort Cherry), sophomore sprinter Jordan Leverette(Cleveland/John Adams) and freshman sprinter Darion Greer (Toledo/Central Catholic) each earned All-OAC honors. Smith placed third in the shot put with a mark of 50 feet 9.75 inches in the shot put, Dysert finished third with a toss of 164' 3.25'' in the hammer throw, Leverette placed second in the 200-meter dash with a career-best finish of 21.73 seconds and  Darion Greer placed third with a time of 10.92 seconds.

Along with Darion Greer in the 100-meter dash Leverette placed fourth with a career-best time of 10.96 seconds. In the 1,500-meter run sophomore distance runner Brady Jeffers (South Amherst/Firelands) finished seventh with a career-best time of 4:06.55.

The relay team of sophomore Brandon Cole (Vermilion), Darion Greer, freshman sprinter and jumper Deion Greer (Toledo/Central Catholic) and Leverette each earned All-OAC honors in the 4x100-meter relay with a season-best time of 42.37 seconds. In the 4x400-meter relay Cole, Jeffers, senior sprinter Vee Sealey (Painesville/Harvey) and Leverette finished in eighth with a season-best time of 3:25.52.

BW is back in action on Friday, May 12 when it hosts the Harrison Dillard Twilight inside George Finnie Stadium starting at 2 p.m.
