Men's Track and Field Team Competes in Harrison Dillard Twilight

BEREA, Ohio – Select members of the Baldwin Wallace University men's track and field team competed in the Harrison Dillard Twilight last chance meet inside George Finnie Stadium.

Highlighting the meet were the performances of the University of Mount Union and John Carroll University 4x400-meter teams as they recorded the top-two times in the nation.

BW was led by sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference sprinter Jordan Leverette (Cleveland/John Adams) as he won the 200-meter dash with a career-best finish of 21.76 seconds and was a member of the 4x100-meter team that finished third.

In the other running events, sophomore distance runner Brady Jeffers (South Amherst/Firelands) finished third in the 800-meter run with a career-best time of 1:59.46 and fifth in the 1,500-meter run with a finish of 4:12.07. Freshman All-OAC sprinter Deion Greer (Toledo/Central Catholic) placed sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.25 seconds.  In the 5,000-meter run freshman distance runner Issac Wilson (Tylersburg, Pa./North Clarion) finished seventh with a career-best time of 15:57.12. In the 100-meter prelims, freshman All-OAC sprinter Darion Greer (Toledo/Central Catholic) recorded a time of 11.26 seconds and sophomore sprinter Brandon Cole (Vermilion) finished seventh in his heat with a career-best time of 11.30 seconds. Cole also finished first in his heat in the 200-meter dash with a career-best finish of 22.48 seconds.

Junior All-OAC thrower Zak Dysert (McDonald, Pa./Fort Cherry) finished third in the hammer throw with a toss of 166 feet two inches. In addition, Dysert placed fourth in the discus throw with a mark of 154' 3''. Behind Dysert in the discus, freshman thrower Ted Achladis (Avon Lake/Elyria Catholic) finished fifth with a toss of 151' 11'' and freshman thrower Carson Kinney (Greenwich/South Central) placed seventh with a mark of 141' 11''. In the shot put event, junior All-OAC thrower Cody Smith (Port Clinton) placed third with a throw of 51' 11.25'' and Achladis finished seventh with a mark of 44' 7''.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Cole, Darion Greer, Deion Greer and Leverette recorded a season-best time of 41.68 seconds and finished fourth.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, May 17 when they travel to Naperville, Illinois for the two-day Gregory Invitational hosted by North Central (Ill.) College inside Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
