Five Men's Basketball Players Earn Academic All-OAC Honors

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Five Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball student-athletes have been selected to 2019-2020 Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.

In order to be selected to the Academic All-OAC team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

Junior guard Matt Dimitrijevs (Broadview Heights / Brecksville Broadview Heights), senior forward Jake Elbin (Findlay), senior forward Jack Lostoski (Uniontown/Lake), senior guard Troy Massa (Parma/Normandy) and senior guard Michael Quiring (Brunswick).

Dimitrijevs, a finance major, will earn his first Academic All-OAC award. Matt is a Dean's List student and Jacket Scholar who carries a 3.636 grade point average(GPA). In two years as a Yellow Jacket, Dimitrijevs has appeared in 51 games and started three, with 349 points, 56 rebounds, 19 steals, 17 assists and four blocks.

Elbin, now a two-time Academic All-OAC selection, is a sport management major who holds a 3.6 GPA and is a Dean's List student. Elbin has appeared in 16 games and started one, totaled 20 points, eight rebounds, one block and one assist.

Lostoski garners his third Academic All-OAC selection. Jack is business administration major holding a 3.71 GPA, and is also a Dean's List student and Jacket Scholar. The senior has appeared in 56 games and started one, tallying 158 points, 87 rebounds, 25 assists, 13 steals and seven blocks.

Earning his third Academic All-OAC honor is Massa. Troy carries a 3.59 GPA as a sport management major and is a Dean's List Student and Jacket Scholar. For his career, Massa has appeared in 29 games with one start, recorded 14 points, nine rebounds, nine assists, two steals and one block.

Quiring will earn his third consecutive Academic All-OAC honor. He carries a 3.811 GPA as a finance major and is a Dean's List Student and Jacket Scholar. After making a second-team All-OAC selection this year, Quiring also was named to the first-team College Sport Information Directors of America(CoSIDA). He surpassed 1,000 career points on February, 14, 2020 to become the 42nd to join the elite company at BW. He currently holds 1,029 points to end his career ranked 38th all-time at BW. The Brunswick native has 306 assists, 253 rebounds, 63 steals and 24 blocks in his career.
