WESTERVILLE, OH – Freshman guard Cam Kuhn (Vermilion) scored a game-high 20 points and senior forward Matt Dennis (Spring Hill, Fla./ Nature Coast Technical) converted the game-winning three-point play with 3.2 seconds left as the Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball team defeated Otterbein University, 70-67, in an Ohio Athletic Conference game in the Rike Center.

In addition to Kuhn for BW (15-6, 9-5 OAC), senior guard Justin Roth (Parma) added 17 points. Otterbein (3-18, 2-12 OAC) was led sophomore forward Grant Fenner's 16 points.

There were six lead changes and four ties with the last one at 26-26 at 5:03 before the Cards took a 29-28 advantage when Fenner made a layup, was fouled and made his charity toss. Back-to-back three-pointers by Roth at 1:43 and senior two-time All-OAC point guard Jaron Crowe (Mentor) at 1:03 gave BW a 34-29 advantage. The Yellow Jackets also led at halftime, 36-33.

In the second half, Otterbein tied the game at 38-38 at 18:29 when freshman guard Darrell Miller III canned a triple.  That led to a string of eight lead changes and four ties with the last at 54-54 at 6:42 when Yellow Jacket sophomore guard Zack Brandy (Hudson) made a layup. The Cardinals went on a 5-0 run to take a 59-54 lead at 5:35 when sophomore guard Christian Meister hit a trey. BW responded with a 7-0 run of its own to take a 61-59 lead at 3:45 when Kuhn made a layup, was fouled and made the free throw.

Ties at 61-61, 63-63, 65-65 and finally 67-67 with 38 seconds left when Otterbein senior forward Marshall Crum made a jumper in traffic. That set the stage for Dennis' winning shot and the margin of victory.
