Football Holds Off Muskingum in Second Road Game of Season

NEW CONCORD, Ohio – In just its second road contest of the season, the Baldwin Wallace University football team came off its bye week and defeated Muskingum University in an Ohio Athletic Conference game by a final score of 34-22 on Sherman Field inside McConagha Stadium.

BW (3-3, 3-2 OAC) improves to 51-13-2 in the all-time series with Muskingum (3-3, 2-3 OAC).   The Yellow Jackets have now won 16 of the last 18 games and have outscored the Fighting Muskies by a margin of 566-279.

Offensively for BW, freshman quarterback Charlie Bubonics (Solon) in his first collegiate start completed 13-of-26 passes for 209 yards with two touchdowns.  Junior running back Victor Ford, Jr. (Cleveland/Shaker Heights) rushed for 56 yards on nine carries with one touchdown.  Sophomore wide receiver Tim Conwell (Avon) caught six passes for 67 yards with one touchdown.  Defensively, senior All-OAC linebacker Mason Levasseur (Panama City, Fla./South Walton) recorded a game-high and career-high tying 13 tackles with his first career pick six touchdown. 

Offensively for Muskingum, senior quarterback Doug Crawford completed 23-of-37 passes for 209 yards with one touchdown.  Sophomore running back Donald Francis rushed for a game-high 117 yards on 21 carries with one touchdown.  Senior All-OAC wide receiver Zuri Edmondson caught four passes for 54 yards.  Defensively, junior Academic All-OAC defensive lineman Toleo Malone and sophomore linebacker Conner Gurney each tallied eight tackles.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, October 21 when they travel to Westerville for an OAC game against Otterbein University inside Memorial Stadium at 12:30 p.m.
