BEREA, Ohio --  There were many, many smiling faces among the 500 people who attended the 2015 Baldwin Wallace University football team banquet at Strosacker Hall on the Berea-based campus on January 24, 2016.  And they should be smiling, the Yellow Jackets had another strong season on the gridiron with numerous student-athletes receiving honors.

BW produced a 7-3 overall record, including a 6-2 mark in the rugged Ohio Athletic Conference and tied for second place in the OAC.

In terms of the highest honors, senior All-OAC quarterback/utility player Tyler Moeglin (Canton/ St. Thomas Aquinas) was the Coach Robert Packard Most Valuable Offensive Player and senior middle linebacker Academic All-OAC Tyler Burdorff (Painesville/Riverside) was the Ray Watts Defensive Player of the Year.

In terms of position awards, senior All-OAC running back Issac Reed III (Lehigh Acres, Fla./ Lehigh) was the Coach Robert Packard Most Outstanding Offensive Back for the second straight year; senior All-OAC guard Nolan Brandt (Olmsted Falls) and senior center Anthony Lautanen (Mentor) were the Co-Dick VanAlmen Most Outstanding Offensive Linemen; junior wide receiver Bryon Cook (Tallmadge) was the Most Outstanding Receiver; junior All-OAC defensive end Andy Schultz (North Royalton) was the Most Outstanding Defensive Lineman; sophomore outside linebackers Sean Nischwitz (Clinton/Green) and Sam Groff (Waynesburg/Sandy Valley) were the Co-Most Outstanding Linebackers; and junior safety Brock Hull (Youngstown/Boardman) was the Most Outstanding Defensive Back.

In terms of special awards, the Tressel Family Academic Award went to senior LB/safety Austin Stephan (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) for the second straight year; the Roy Seitz Yellow Jacket Team Contribution Award was given to both senior offensive tackle Josh Lane (Rootstown) and senior two-time Academic All-OAC defensive end Lawrence Wolfe (Creston/Norwayne); and the Eloise Tressel J-A-C-K-E-T Award was given to junior WR Mike Waggoner (Stow/ Stow-Munroe Falls).

Fifteen Yellow Jacket seniors leave the program via graduation. The group compiled a 25-15 record with a .625 winning percentage and had three winning and one .500 season.
