ACADEMIC MAJOR: Health Care Management

BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION: Jake Mauer played three seasons of football at Baldwin Wallace University and earned three varsity letters.

GENERAL FOOTBALL INFORMATION:  Jake played four seasons of college football, including three at BW. He began his career at the University of Findlay, sat out his red-shirt sophomore season due to an injury and then played and lettered for three seasons as a Yellow Jacket at defensive end.

Jake played in 30 varsity games and recorded 122 career tackles, including 40 solo stops, seven tackles for loss and three quarterback sacks. He also forced one fumble and recovered another and had four QB hurries. Jake helped BW compile a 25-15 record in his four seasons in the program.

As a freshman in 2011-2012, Jake attended the University of Findlay and played football. No other information is available.

As a sophomore in 2012-2013, Jake did not play due to an injury.

As a red-shirt sophomore in 2013-2014, Jake played his first season of football at BW and earned his first varsity letter. He split time at defensive end. He appeared in all 10 games, had 27 toral tackles, including two quarterback sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss. BW finished 6-4 overall.

As a red-shirt junior in 2014-2015, Jake played his third season of football and earned his second letter. He alternated as the starter at DE and had 29 tackles, including one for loss, and had one QB hurry. BW finished 5-5 overall.

As a senior in 2015-2016, Jake played his fourth season of football and earned his third varsity letter. He is started all 10 games at DE and led all linemen and tied for second on the team with 66 tackles, including 20 solo stops, three tackles for loss and one sack. He also recovered a fumble and forced a pair of QB hurries. BW finished 7-3 overall.

OTHER GROUPS:   Jake is a soldier of the United States Army Reserves and is stationed with the 256th Combat Support Hospital in Twinsburg, Ohio. He also is a part of a dual-enrollment ROTC program at John Carroll University. He will be commissioned upon graduation.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Jake Mauer grew up in Brunswick, Ohio and graduated from Brunswick High School. He played football, wrestled and ran track and field. Jake earned three varsity letters in football and track and one varsity letter in wrestling.

In football as a senior, Jake was named second-team All-Northern Ohio Conference.

Academically, Jake graduated with a 3.1 grade point average.
