Women’s Tennis Falls to Roanoke (Va.) in Shortened Match

HILTON, HEAD, S.C -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team dropped a shortened non-conference match to Roanoke (Va.) College by final score of 5-2 at the Evian Tennis Center. 

The match was shortened due to time restraints and was awarded to Roanoke (2-1) as they reached the five team points needed for the victory 

BW (2-4) won two of three doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead.   Sophomore All-OAC player Imani Robinson (Cincinnati /School for Creative & Performing Arts) and freshman Liz Radkiewicz (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) claimed first doubles by a score of 9-7.  Senior Claire Watts (Medina/Highland) and freshman Emily Danhert (Charlottesville, Va. /The Covenant School) took second doubles by a score of 8-2.

Roanoke won the match as it took four of the five singles matches that were on the court.  Only second singles did not start and first singles was only in the first set. 

The Yellow Jackets close out their spring trip to Hilton Head on Thursday, March 9 when it takes on Nebraska Wesleyan University at the Hilton Head Beach and Tennis Complex at 12 p.m.
