Women’s Tennis Holds Off Bridgewater (Va.) in Hilton Head Opener

HILTON, HEAD, S.C -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team opened its annual spring break trip with 5-4 victory against Bridgewater (Va.) College at the Palmetto Dunes Tennis Center 

BW (2-3), who snapped a three-match losing skid, won two of three doubles matches and three of six singles matches for the victory.

In doubles, the tandem of sophomore All-OAC player Imani Robinson (Cincinnati /School for Creative & Performing Arts) and freshman Liz Radkiewicz (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) won at first doubles by a score of 9-7.  Senior Claire Watts (Medina/Highland) and freshman Emily Dahnert (Charlottesville, Va. /The Covenant School) took second doubles by a score of 8-2.

In singles play, Watts won second singles by scores of 1-6, 6-3 and 10-8.  Radkiewicz earned the victory at third singles by identical scores of 6-4.  Junior Kelly Peskura (Strongsville) secured the victory as she claimed fourth singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-3.

BW is back in action on Monday, March 6when it takes on NAIA Spring Arbor (Mich.) University at the Palmetto Dunes Tennis Center at 2:30 p.m.
