BEREA, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis dropped a rescheduled Ohio Athletic Conference match to the University of Mount Union by a final score of 6-3 on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts.
BW (5-9, 1-3 OAC) and Mount Union (7-4, 2-1 OAC) were originally scheduled to play on March but inclement weather forced the postponement of the match on three occasions.
The Purple Raiders took two of three doubles matches to gain a 2-1 advantage. The Yellow Jackets got their lone doubles victory from the third tandem of juniors Shannon Finkenthal (Beachwood) and Kelly Peskura (Strongsville) by a score of 8-5.
Mount Union won four of six singles matches to secure the victory. Freshman Liz Radkiewicz (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) earned the victory at third singles by scores of 6-3 and 6-2. Freshman Emily Dahnert (Charlottesville, Va. / The Covenant School) closed out the scoring for BW as she won at fifth singles by scores of 6-0 and 6-1.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Tuesday, April 11 when the team hosts anOAC match against the Heidelberg University at 3:30 p.m.
