Four Women's Tennis Student-Athletes Named to Academic All-OAC Team

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Four Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis student-athletes were named to the 2017 Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team. 

In order to be selected as Academic All-OAC a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and maintain varsity status.

Senior Claire Watts (Medina/Highland), juniors Kayla Eeg (Waterford, Pa./Gerneral McLade), Hayley Geronimo (Beachwood) and Kelly Peskura (Strongsville) each earned Academic All-OAC honors. 

Watts, who garners her third Academic All-OAC accolade, is a biology and sustainability double major that carries a 3.69 grade point average (GPA). She is also a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma honor society and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Scholars Program. Watts, finished the year with a singles record of 13-12 and won a career-best 12 matches in doubles. 

Eeg, who earns her second Academic All-OAC honor, is a pre-physical therapy major that carries a 3.89 GPA. She is also a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Alpha Lambda and Chi Alpha Sigma honor societies. Eeg finished the year with a 5-4 singles record and was 3-2 in doubles action. 

Geronimo, who garners her second Academic All-OAC accolade, is a psychology major that carries a 3.58 GPA. She is also a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma honor society. Geronimo was 3-5 in singles play and had a doubles mark of 4-0 this season. 

Peskura, who earns her first Academic All-OAC honor, is a spanish major that carries a 3.57 GPA. She is also a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma honor society. Peskura finished the year with a record of 12-8 in singles and a 1-0 mark in doubles.
