Women’s Tennis Closes Out Regular Season with Shutout of Muskingum

NEW CONCORD, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team ended its regular season schedule with a 9-0 Ohio Athletic Conference shutout of Muskingum University on Muskie Courts. 

BW (8-12, 4-4 OAC) won all three doubles matches against Muskingum (3-11, 1-7 OAC). Junior Kelly Peskura (Strongsville) and freshman Liz Radkiewicz (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) won first doubles by a score of 8-0.  Senior Academic All-OAC player Claire Watts (Medina/Highland) and freshman Emily Dahnert (Charlottesville, Va. /The Covenant School) took second doubles by a score of 8-0.   Junior Kayla Eeg (Waterford, Pa. /General McLane) and sophomore Kathleen Moser (Strongsville) captured third doubles by a score of 8-0.

The Yellow Jackets closed out the sweep by winning all six singles matches.   Radkiewicz won at first singles by scores of 7-5 and 6-2.  Watts picked up the victory at second singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-0.  Dahnert captured third singles by identical scores of 6-0.   Peskura took fourth singles by scores of 6-0 and 6-2.  Moser claimed victory at fifth singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-0.   Eeg rounded out the match with a win at sixth singles by identical scores of 6-0.  

BW enters next week's OAC Tournament as the fifth seed and will play on Wednesday, May 3 at fourth-seed Otterbein University in Westerville at 3 p.m.  The winner of the quarterfinal matches advance to the semifinals on Friday, May 5 at the Linder Family Tennis Center in Mason.   The OAC Championship will be played on Saturday, May 6.
