HILTON, HEAD, S.C -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team ended its spring break trip with a 7-2 victory against Nebraska Wesleyan University at Hilton Head Beach and Tennis.
BW (4-5) took a 3-0 lead after doubles action. Sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Imani Robinson (Cincinnati /School for Creative & Performing Arts) and freshman Liz Radkiewicz (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) claimed first doubles by a score of 8-1. Senior Claire Watts (Medina/Highland) and freshman Emily Danhert (Charlottesville, Va. /The Covenant School) took second doubles by a score of 8-0. Junior Kelly Peskura (Strongsville) and sophomore Kathleen Moser (Strongsville) won third doubles by a score of 8-5.
The Yellow Jackets took four of six doubles matches to secure the win. Watts earned the victory at second singles by scores of 6-0 and 6-1. Radkiewicz claimed third singles by scores of 6-2 and 6-1. Peskura took third singles by identical scores of 6-0. Junior Kayla Eeg (Waterford, Pa./General McLane) closed out the match and secured the victory at sixth singles by scores of 6-0 and 6-2.
BW returns to action on Saturday, March 25 when it hosts the University of Mount Union in its home and OAC opener on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts at 1 p.m.
