Women’s Tennis Falls to Ohio Northern in Weather Delayed Match

ADA, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team fell to Ohio Northern University in a weather delayed Ohio Athletic Conference match by a final score of 7-2. 

The match, which began outside on the University Tennis Courts and was delayed by an hour and 20 minutes due to lightning, only finished two doubles matches before being forced inside to the ONU Sports Center to complete the match,

Ohio Northern (18-4, 5-1 OAC) won two of three doubles matches against BW (6-10, 2-4 OAC).  Juniors Kelly Peskura (Strongsville) and Shannon Finkenthal (Beachwood) claimed the lone Yellow Jacket victory at third doubles by a score of 9-8.

The Polar Bears won five of six singles matches to secure the win.  Freshman Emily Dahnert (Charlottesville, Va. /The Covenant School) earned the lone win at fourth singles by identical scores of 6-2.

BW is back in action on Thursday, April 20 when it travels to Granville for a non-conference match against Denison University on the Denison Tennis Courts at 4:30 p.m.  The Yellow Jackets return home on Saturday, April 22 when they host an OAC and Seniors' and Parents' Day match against Capital University at 11 a.m.
