BEREA, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis opened its 2017 Ohio Athletic Conference portion of the schedule with an 8-1 loss to Otterbein University inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse.
Otterbein (8-2, 2-0 OAC) won all three doubles matches to lead 3-0. BW (4-6, 0-1 OAC) had its closest match as the second tandem of senior Academic All-OAC player Claire Watts (Medina/ Highland) and freshman Emily Dahnert (Charlottesville, Va. / The Covenant School) fell in a highly-contested match by a score of 8-6.
The Cardinals won five of six singles matches to secure the win. BW got its only point of the match as freshman Liz Radkiewicz (Powell/ Olentangy Liberty) came back to win at third singles by scores of 6-7, 7-5 and 11-9.
BW is back in action on Wednesday, April 5 when it travels to University Heights for an OAC match against cross-town rival John Carroll University at 3:30 p.m. The next home match is on Friday, April 7 when the team hosts an OAC match against the University of Mount Union at 3:30 p.m.
