Achladis Garners Two USTFCCCA All-Region Accolades

Complete USTFCCCA All-Region Selections

NEW ORLEANS – Baldwin Wallace University sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference thrower Ted Achladis (Avon Lake/Elyria Catholic) has earned two seaparate United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) All-Great Lakes Regions selection, his second career honor in the discus and his first in the shot put. 

Achladis garners his second and third career Outdoor USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region selections on the heels of two All-OAC finishes at the 2018 OAC Championships. The sophomore won the shot put with a career-best mark of 53 feet, 1.5 inches and was the runner-up in the discus after hitting a mark of 154'6". Achladis had his career-best mark in the discus at the Amy Adams Memorial Invitational when he threw 162'1". Both his career bests put him in the top 20 nationally, which earned an invitation to compete in both events at the 2018 NCAA Division III National Championships.

Achladis will continue his seasons at the 2018 NCAA Division III National Championships, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse at the Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. He will compete in the discus on Thursday, May 24, and the shot put on Friday, May 25.
