Men's Outdoor Track and Field Hosts Harrison Dillard Twilight

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's outdoor track and field team competed in its final home meet of the season at the unscored Harrison Dillard Twilight meet inside George Finnie Stadium.

Sophomore All-OAC thrower Ted Achladis (Avon Lake/Elyria Catholic) was the lone field athlete competing and finished seventh in the shot put and 10th in the discus with tosses of 51'3.5" and 148'9".

On the track, freshman All-OAC distance runner Josh Hickmott (Clay, N.Y./Liverpool) had the best result as he won the 5,000-meter run in a time of 15:05.69, beating the second place runner by 17 seconds. In the 10,000-meter run, sophomore distance runner Nick Irwin (Westlake), junior distance runner Spencer Mahon (North Royalton), sophomore distance runner Isaac Wilson (Tylersburg, Pa./North Clarion), and freshman distance runner Andrew Krupp (Ottawa Hills) swept the top four spots. Irwin won the event in a career-best time of 32:30.52, Mahon was the runner-up in 33:24.82, Wilson placed third in 34:00.71 and Krupp finished fourth in 34:11.63. Freshman distance runner Spencer Roberts (Buffalo, N.Y./West Seneca West) took third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:05.78.

Select members of the BW outdoor track and field teams will compete at an NCAA Last Chance meet, hosted by North Central (Ill.) College Wednesday and Thursday, May 16-17, in order to hit a qualifying mark for the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championship meet.
