Men's Outdoor Track and Field Competes at Coach Rob Invitational

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's outdoor track and field team competed in the "Coach Rob" Invitational, hosted by Wittenberg University on the Earl F. Morris Track.

The Yellow Jacket men finished ninth of 10 teams, totaling 29 points, and Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology placed first with 188.5 points.

Freshman distance runner Josh Hickmott (Clay, N.Y./Liverpool) won the 1,500-meter run in a time of 4:03.24 and also placed sixth in the 800-meter run in a career-best time of 2:01.08. Freshmen distance runners Spencer Roberts (Buffalo, N.Y./West Seneca West) and Larry Salerno (Mentor) finished sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as Roberts crossed the finish line in 10:25.78 and Salerno followed in 11:03.26. Junior sprinter Brandon Cole (Vermillion) finished sixth in the 200-meter dash in a season-best 23.01 seconds.

Cole, junior sprinter Noah Kendrick (Akron/Walsh Jesuit), freshman sprinter Dale Booker (Winter Haven, Fla./All Saints Academy) and Hickmott had the best relay finish, taking eighth in the 4x400-meter relay in a time of 3:39.25.

In the field, freshman jumper Alex Dempsey (Madison) took third in the long jump, hitting a mark of 21 feet, 0.5 inches and sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference thrower Ted Achladis (Avon Lake/Elyria Catholic) placed eighth in the hammer throw, tossing 124'6". 

BW will be back in action on Saturday, April 7, when the Yellow Jackets compete in the John Homon Open, hosted by the University of Mount Union inside Mount Union Stadium.
