Men's Indoor Track and Field Team Lands Four on USTCCCA All-Great Lakes Region Team

NEW ORLEANS, La. –
The Baldwin Wallace University men's track and field team landed four student-athletes on the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTCCCA) Indoor Track & Field All-Great Lakes Region team.

Sophomore sprinter Jordan Leverette (Cleveland/John Adams) earned his second All-Great Lakes Region accolade and senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference vaulter Johnathon Spilker (Solon), All-OAC junior throwers Cody Smith (Port Clinton) and Zak Dysert (McDonald, Pa./Fort Cherry) each earn their first All-Great Lakes Region honors.  

Leverette, who earned All-Great Lakes Region honors a season ago, was on the team for the 60-meter, 200-meter and 400-meter dashes. This season he set a school-record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.06 seconds at the Division III All-Ohio Championships. He also recorded a career-best finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.57 at the OAC North Split and had a season-best time of 22.22 in the 200-meter dash at the Hillsdale Wide Track Classic.

Spilker, Smith, and Dysert each earned their first All-Great Region Accolades. Spilker had a season-best vault of 15 feet 1.5 inches at the ONU Last Chance Meet and earned his second indoor All-OAC honor with a third place finish at the OAC Championships. Smith, who will compete at the NCAA National Championships this weekend, was named to the All-Region team for the shot with a career-best throw of 54'1'' in the shot put at the ONU Last Chance meet and also earned his second straight third place finish at the Indoor OAC Championships. Dysert was named to the team in the weight throw as he recorded a career-best mark of 56'11.5'' at the Hillsdale Wide Track Classic and placed third at the Division III All-Ohio Championships.

The NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships are hosted by North Central College in Naperville, Illinois on Friday and Saturday March 10-11 on the Al B. Carius Track. Field events begin at 10 a.m. and the running events start at 1 p.m.
