MUSKINGUM, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's track and field team is in fifth place after day one of the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Muskingum University on the Johnson Family Track.

BW is in fifth of 10 teams with a team score of 21. The University of Mount Union leads after day one with a score of 82.

The Yellow Jackets were led by junior thrower Zak Dysert (McDonald, Pa./Fort Cherry) and senior vaulter Johnathon Spilker (Solon) as they each earned All-OAC honors. Dysert won the discus throw with a career-best mark of 154 feet 11.75 inches and Spilker placed third in the pole vaulting event with a mark of 14' 11.5''.

In addition to Dysert in the discus, freshman thrower Carson Kinney (Greenwich/South Central) finished eighth with a throw of 147' 5.25''. Dysert also earned a seventh place finish in the javelin event with a mark of 156' 2.25''. Freshman sprinter and jumper Deion Greer (Toledo/Central Catholic) finished eighth in the long jump with a career-best leap of 10' 1.25''.

In the 100-meter dash prelims, freshman sprinter Darion Greer (Toledo/Central Catholic) had the second fastest time with a career-best finish of 10.91 seconds and sophomore sprinter Jordan Leverette (Cleveland/John Adams) earned the eighth spot in the finals with a career-best time of 10.99 seconds. Leverette also had the third fastest time in the 200-meter dash prelims with a career-best time of 21.90 seconds.

In relay action, sophomore distance runner Brady Jeffers (South Amherst/Firelands), sophomore distance runner Spencer Mahon (North Royalton), sophomore distance runner Phil Spronz (Strongsville) and junior sprinter Vee Sealey (Painesville/Harvey) teamed up for an eighth place finish in the 3,200-meter relay with a season-best time of 8:24.93.
