BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University junior All-OAC thrower Cody Smith (Port Clinton) will compete at the 2017 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championships hosted by the University of Mount Union at the Spire Institute in Geneva.
Smith earns his first appearance at the outdoor national meet with his season-best mark of 53' 3.5'', which ranks tied for 16th in the country. He also qualified for the 2017 Indoor National Championships earlier this year. Smith earned All-OAC honors in the shot put event and earned All-Great Lakes Region honors for his performances in both indoors and outdoors. In his career, he is a two-time All-OAC honoree and two-time All-Great Lakes Region honoree.
Smith competes on Friday, May 26 at 10:30 a.m. in their respective events.
