Burdorff Garners First Career OAC Indoor Track Weekly Honor

BEREA, Ohio --  Baldwin Wallace University junior 2014 NCAA Division III national qualifier and football middle linebacker Tyler Burdorff (Painesville/Riverside) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Track Field Athlete of the Week. 

Burdorff, who earns his first career OAC indoor track weekly honor, won the weight throw and finished second in the shot put with career-bests in each event at the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Otterbein University in the Clements Recreation Center.

He won the weight throw with a career-best toss of 58-feet and 10 and one-half  inches and placed second in the shot put with a career-best throw of 51'0.75.  Burdoff's throw in the weight throw ranks 12th-best in Division III this year. He was an NCAA Division III national qualifier a year ago in the weight throw indoors and the hammer outdoors.

This fall, Burdorff started his second consecuitve season at middle linebacker for the Yellow Jackets. He finished second on the team in tackles with 73. Burdorff will enter his senior season with 114 career tackles, including nine for loss.

BW is back in action on Friday, February 20 when it hosts the Greater Cleveland Colleges Championships on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse at 4 p.m. The Yellow Jackets then travel to Kent on Saturday, February 21 to compete in the Kent State University Tune-Up Meet at 11 a.m.
