One Yellow Jacket and One Men's Relay Team Compete on First Day of NCAA Championships

CANTON, N.Y. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's track and field team had one individual and one relay team compete on the first day of competition at the NCAA Division III National Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by St. Lawrence University on the Merrick-Pinkard Track Complex.

Senior pole vaulter Brandon Eddy (Cuyahoga Heights) and the 4x100-meter relay team of sophomore Troy Robinson (Akron/Garfield), junior All-American and CAPITAL ONE Academic All-American Ben Beidleman (Washington, D.C./Saint Anselm's Academy, senior Isaac Baker (Lithia, Fla. /Newsome) and junior sprinter Michael Beidleman (Washington, D.C./Saint Anselm's Academy) were in action on day one.

Eddy placed 18th of 20 competitors with a vault of 15 feet and 0.75 inches.  The 4x100-meter relay  did not qualify for the finals and finished 12th of 16 teams in a time of 41.725 seconds.   The top nine fastest times advanced to Saturday's finals.

The second day of the NCAA Championships is set for Friday, May 22.  The Yellow Jacket competitors will compete in the finals of the hammer.
