BW Outdoor Track and Field Teams Compete at UNC Charlotte Meet

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina – The Baldwin Wallace University men's outdoor track and field team competed at the 2015 UNC Charlotte 49er Invitational Meet. The unscored meet was the second of the outdoor season and is ladden with NCAA Division I and II competitors.

For the men, junior All-OAC thrower Tyler Burdorff (Painesville/ Riverside) placed sixth in the hammer with a throw of 163'2" and eighth in both the shot put with a throw of 49'3" and discus with a throw of 145'9". His throws both in the hammer and shot put each rank fifth and his discus is ninth in Division III this sseason.

In addition, junior All-American sprinter Ben Beidleman (Washington, D.C./ Saint Anselm's Abbey) was 15th in the 200-meter dash in 22.00 seconds. His time ranks fourth in Div. III so far. The 4x100-meter relay team of sophomore Troy Robinson (Akron/ Garfield), freshman Theodore Washington (Orlando, Fla./ First Academy), senior Darryl Jones (Cleveland/ Villa Angela - St. Joseph) and Beidleman placed 10th in 43.02 seconds. Also, senior All-American decathlete Brandon Eddy (Cuyahoga Heights) was sixth in the high jump with a leap of 6'6", which ranks in a tie for fourth in Div. III this spring.
 
BW is back in action next Saturday, March 28 when the Yellow Jackets travel to Marietta, Ohio and Marietta College to compete at the Don Frail Invitational Meet. Field events begin at 1 pm.
