BW’s Beidleman Named CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District 7

Complete 2014-15 Academic All-District Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team

BEREA, OHIO --  Baldwin Wallace University junior All-American and CAPITAL ONE Academic All-American sprinter Ben Beidleman (Washington, D.C./ Saint Anselm's Abbey) was named to the 2015 CAPITAL ONE Division III Academic All-District 7 first-team and qualifies for his second straight CAPITAL ONE Academic All-America Division III national ballot. The 2015 Academic All-America team for Div. III will be announced on June 9 at 12:00 noon (EST).

A year ago, Beidleman was a first-team CAPITAL ONE Academic All-American.

Beidleman just returned from the 2015 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championship Meet in Canton, N.Y. (May 21-23) where he competed on the 12th-place 4x100-meter relay team. In addition outdoors this season, he was the Ohio Athletic Conference champion and earned All-OAC honors in the 200-meter dash and was a member of the second place 4x100 relay team. Beidleman also placed fourth in the 100-meter dash.

Indoors this winter, Beidleman qualified for the 2015 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championship Meet in the 200-meter dash and placed 13th. He earned OAC Men's Indoor Track Performer of the Week honors on January 26, 2015 when he set a Harrison Dillard Track Record in the 200-meter dash with a 21.64-second timing. He also set a BW indoor school-record with a 21.18-second timing at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Meet. Beidleman earned All-OAC honors indoors in the 200-meter dash (second), 4x100-meter relay (second) and 60-meter dash (third).

A year ago at the 2014 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championship Meet, Beidleman placed eighth individually in the 200-meter dash and earned All-American honors.

In the classroom, Beidleman carries a 3.985 grade point average in accounting and economics, is a member of the Dean's List, Alpha Lambda, Dayton C. Miller and Chi Sigma Alpha academic honoraries and is a Jacket Scholar. He also is a two-time Academic All-OAC and CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District 7 selection.

Baldwin Wallace has 96 all-time Academic All-America student-athletes and more than any other school in the OAC.
