Yellow Jacket Men's Indoor Track Places 12th at Mid-February Meet

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's indoor track and field team finished 12th of 15 teams at the annual Mid-February Meet on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse. 

The Yellow Jackets scored 22 points and were led by junior jumper Sammy Ibrahim (North Olmsted) and freshman distance runner Evan Milovich (Westlake), who each placed third in their respective events.  Ibrahim took third in the long jump with a career-best leap of 20 feet and 6.5 inches and Milovich placed third in the 5000-meter run in a time of 16:24.32

In addition, freshman thrower Ian Ramos (Norwalk) placed sixth in the weight throw with a toss of 42'7".  Freshman sprinter Theodore Washington (Orlando, Fla. / First Academy) finished sixth in the 55-meter dash in a career-best time of 6.76 seconds.  Senior distance runner Dusan Vasic (Broadview Heights/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) took seventh in the 800-meter run in a season-best time of 2:11.29

BW is back in action on Saturday, February 14 when it travels to Westerville to compete in the All-Ohio Division III Championships hosted by Otterbein University on the Clements Recreation Center at 12 p.m.   The Yellow Jackets return home on Friday, February 20 for the final home indoor meet of the season when they host the Greater Cleveland College Championships at 4 p.m.
