Trio of Men's Track and Field Student-Athletes Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Accolades

Complete USTFCCCA Division III All-Academic Honorees

BEREA, Ohio  – Three members of the Baldwin Wallace University men's field teams have garnered United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and have met either of the following athletic standards:
  • Competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship
  • Finished the regular season ranked in the national top 35 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 25 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org
Junior All-American and Capital One Academic All-American sprinter Ben Beidleman (Washington D.C./ St. Anselm's Abbey), junior sprinter Michael Beidleman (Washington D.C./ Col. Zadok A. Mcgruder) and junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference thrower Tyler Burdorff (Painesville/ Riverside) join 204 other Division III male student-athletes to earn the honor.

, who carries a 3.985 grade point average in accounting and economics, is a two-time Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference and two-time first-team CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District 7 selection.   He is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and member of the Alpha Lambda, Dayton C. Miller and Chi Sigma Alpha honoraries.

Beidleman, who is a two-time CAPITAL ONE Division III Academic All-American and carries a 3.96 grade point average in economics and accoung, competed at both the 2015 Division III indoor and outdoor championships. He finished 13th at the indoor championships in the 200-meter dash and was a member (along with his brother Michael) on the 12th place outdoor 4x100-meter relay team.  He owns the BW indoor record in the 200-meter and is a member of the school indoor record-setting 4x200-meter relay team. A year ago, he earned Division III All-American honors with an eighth place finish in the 200 meters at the 2014 NCAA Div. III outdoor meet.

Michael Beidleman
, who maintains a 3.817 grade point average in economics, is an Academic All-OAC selection and is a Dean's List student and a Jacket Scholar.   He is an All-OAC runner that competed this spring on the 12th place outdoor 4x100-meter relay team. Michael is member of the school record-setting as he indoor 4x200 meter relay team.
 
Burdorff, who carries a 3.373 grade point average in exercise science, is a Dean's List student.  He competed at both the indoor and outdoor championships and had a 16th place finish in the hammer.   Burdorff, who also is a starting linebacker on the BW football team, is a two-time All-OAC performer indoors and a three-time All-OAC performer outdoors.
