Arney and Brennan Garner All-Ohio Honors in Soccer

BEREA, Ohio -- Senior soccer student-athletes Trey Arney (Coshocton) and Michael Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) have been selected to the 2014 Ohio Soccer Coaches Association All-Ohio NCAA Division III team.

 Arney, who was selected to the second team as a defender, is making his second appearance on the All-Ohio team.  He played his fourth season of soccer and earned his fourth letter. Arney played in all 21 matches, took 18 shots, including nine on-goal, scored three goals and had six points. He also had one game-winning goal.

Arney, who carries a 3.656 grade point average, is a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC player. During his career, he played in 77 games, took 47 shots, including 27 on-goal, scored seven goals for 14 points, and on defense, he helped BW to record 14 shutouts.

Brennan, who was tabbed a a third-team selection as a forward, is making his first appearance on the All-Ohio squad. He played his fourth season of soccer and earned his fourth letter. Brennan played and started all 21 games, ranked second with 35 shots taken, including a team-high-tying 20 on-goal, scored two goals and had a team-high eight assists for 12 total points.

He carries a 3.86 grade average and is a three-time Academic All-OAC selection. During his career, Brennan played in 71 contests, took 100 shots, including 56 on-goal, scored 12 goals and added 12 assists for 36 career points.

The Yellow Jacket men finished 10-10-1 overall and advanced to the OAC Tournament semifinals.
