CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team was shut out by cross-town rival Case Western Reserve University in a rain soaked game by a final score of 1-0 on DiSanto Field.
The Yellow Jackets (1-4) had their five game-winning streak against the Spartans (3-1-1) snapped with the loss.
BW and Case Western Reserve played to a scoreless draw in the first half. The Spartans held a 7-3 advantage in shots but the Yellow Jackets had the advantage in shots on goal at 2-1.
Case Western Reserve scored the game's only goal when Chris Cvecko hit a shot that beat BW freshman netminder Ryan Asbury (Cincinnati/Turpin) off the assist from Matthew Zembas just four minutes into the second half at the 49:48 mark.
The Yellow Jackets next travels to Grove City, Pennsylvania on Saturday, September 13 to take on the Wolverines of Grove City College in the second game of a men's and women's soccer doubleheader on the College Field at 3:30 p.m. Fans can follow the action via live stats at http://tinyurl.com/nmbncql.
