Arney and Brennan Tabbed To Academic All-Ohio Men's Soccer Team

BEREA, Ohio -- Baldwin Wallace University senior defender Trey Arney (Coshocton) eand senior forward Michael Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) have been named to the Ohio Soccer Coaches Association (OSCA) All-Ohio team for colleges and universities. 

Arney was a first-team pick and Brennan earned second-team honors.

Arney, who carries a 3.656 grade point average in biology, is making his second appearance on the Academic All-Ohio squad. Last year, he was a second-team pick. The two-time All-Ohio pick played his fourth season of soccer and earned his fourth letter. Arney played in all 21 matches, took 18 shots, including nine on-goal, scored three goals and had six points. He also had one game-winning goal. Arney also is a two-time All-OAC and two-time Academic All-OAC player. During his career, he played in 77 games, took 47 shots, including 27 on-goal, scored seven goals for 14 points, and on defense, he helped BW to record 14 shutouts.

Brennan, who carried a 3.87 grade point average in chemistry, is making his first appearance on the Academic All-Ohio squad. The third-team All-Ohio selection this fall played his fourth season of soccer and earned his fourth letter. He played and started all 21 games, ranked second with 35 shots taken, including a team-high-tying 20 on-goal, scored two goals and had a team-high eight assists for 12 total points. Brennan also is a three-time Academic All-OAC selection. During his career, he played in 71 contests, took 100 shots, including 56 on-goal, scored 12 goals and added 12 assists for 36 career points.

Arney and Brennan helped BW to establish a school-record of 16 wins in 2012 and a 40-33-8 career mark during their four seasons.
