Women’s Tennis Drops Non-Conference Match to Wittenberg

DAYTON, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team was defeated by Wittenberg University by a final score of 8-1 inside the Five Seasons Family Sports Club. 

BW (0-2) won one singles matches.  Wittenberg (4-0) won all three doubles match and five singles matches

Doubles

  • Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC Gabriela Heideman (Doylestown/Wadsworth) and senior Academic All-OAC Kierstyn Yates (Grafton/Midview) fell at first doubles to Caroline Sproule and Kylie Wilson by a score of 8-5
  • Junior Academic All-OAC Emma Trost (Norwalk) and freshman Colleen Andersen (Ashtabula/St. John) dropped an 8-3 decision at second doubles to Sophia Pischalko and Claire Loomis
  • Freshmen Olivia Koutouras (Avon Lake) and Samantha Thielen (Toledo/Sylvania Northview) fell at third doubles to Brenna Ball and Lilly Hartman by a score of 8-0

Singles

  • Heideman fell to Sproule at first singles by scores of 1-6 and 4-1 before retiring
  • Yates fell to Wilson at second singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-0
  • Anderson fell to Pischalko at third singles by identical scores of 6-1
  • Koutouras fell to Loomis at fourth singles by scores of 6-2 and 6-4
  • Trost fell to Hartman at fifth singles by scores of 6-4 and 6-2
  • Sophomore Gillian Brown (Brunswick) defeated Celeste Hartings at sixth singles by scores of 6-4 and 6-0 

The Yellow Jackets are back in action tonight when they host a non-conference match against Berea (Ky.) College at the Medical Mutual Tennis Center on the campus of Cleveland State University at 9:30 p.m.
