Women’s Tennis Falls to Ohio Northern in Reschedule OAC

BEREA, Ohio – In its first home match of the season, the Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team fell to Ohio Northern University in a rescheduled Ohio Athletic Conference match by a final score of 9-0 on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts.

BW (2-10, 0-3 OAC) and Ohio Northern (15-5, 4-1 OAC) were originally scheduled to play April 10 but had to reschedule due to inclement weather.

Doubles

  • Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC Gabriela Heideman (Doylestown/Wadsworth) and senior Academic All-OAC Kierstyn Yates (Grafton/Midview) fell at first doubles by a score of 8-4
  • Junior Academic All-OAC Emma Trost (Norwalk) and freshman Colleen Andersen (Ashtabula/St. John) fell at second doubles by a score of 8-0
  • Freshmen Olivia Koutouras (Avon Lake) and Aniya Qualls (Elyria/Midview) fell at third doubles by a score of 8-0

Singles

  • Heideman fell at first singles by scores of 6-4 and 6-2
  • Yates fell at second singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-0
  • Andersen fell at third singles by scores of 6-2 and 6-0
  • Koutouras fell at fourth singles by identical scores of 6-0
  • Trost fell at fifth singles by scores of 6-0 and 6-1
  • Freshman Gillian Brown (Brunswick) fell at sixth singles by scores of 6-0 and 6-1

The Yellow Jackets close out the home portion of their schedule on Wednesday, April 24 when they host an OAC match against crosstown rival John Carroll University on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts at 3:30 p.m.
