OBERLIN, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team won its second match of the season as it defeated Oberlin College in a non-conference match by a final score of 7-2 on the Don Hunsinger Tennis Courts.
BW (2-7) won three doubles matches and four singles matches. Oberlin (0-7) won two singles matches
Doubles
- Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC Gabriela Heideman (Doylestown/Wadsworth) and senior Academic All-OAC Kierstyn Yates (Grafton/Midview) won at first doubles by a score of 8-5
- Junior Academic All-OAC Emma Trost (Norwalk) and freshman Colleen Andersen (Ashtabula/St. John) won at second doubles by a score of 8-3
- Freshmen Aniya Qualls (Elyria/Midview) and Samantha Thielen (Toledo/Sylvania Northview) won no contest at third doubles
Singles
- Heideman fell at first singles by scores of 7-5 and 6-4
- Yates fell at second singles by scores of 6-2, 7-6 and 7-5 in the tiebreaker
- Andersen won at third singles by scores of 6-4 and 6-1
- Trost won at fourth singles by identical scores of 6-1
- Freshman Gillian Brown (Brunswick) won at fifth singles by identical scores of 6-0
- Senior Academic All-OAC Juliet Penrod (Macedonia/Nordonia) won no contest at sixth singles
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, March 23 when they travel to Steubenville for a non-conference match against Franciscan University on the Belleview Courts at 1 p.m.
