BEREA, Ohio – The 2019-20 season will have a new look and feel for the Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team as head coach Andrew Edgar will be in his inaugural season on the links.

Edgar, who was named head coach on August 2, welcomes back 10 letterwinners, four golfers that competed in last year's league championship and one All-OAC player.  The squad features three seniors, three juniors, four sophomores and one freshman.

BW will be led by senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC performer Anna Schatschneider (Avon) as she returns as the team leader in stroke average. Schatschneider, who averaged 87.46 in her first season, earned her first all-conference honor and her first medalist accolade.  Sophomore Kelly Linnabary (Westerville/Central) was second on the squad with a 91.47 average with a low-round of 80.  Junior Academic All-OAC performer Rachael Sladky (North Olmsted) was with fifth on the team with a career-low 94.24 average and career-low round of 85.  Senior Academic All-OAC performer Emily Hunt (Marysville), who was the final player to appear in the league championship, averaged 97.44 strokes per round and shot a season-low 91.

The Yellow Jackets welcome back six players that will all push to make Edgar's lineup. Highlighting the group is sophomore Leah Metzger (Ashland) as she was fourth on the team a season ago with a 93.25 average and a low-round of 87.

Others that will via for a spot in the lineup include senior Hannah Durst (Madison), junior Academic All-OAC performer Aubrey Baumler (Huron), junior Maria Simon (Santa Cruz, BOLIVIA/Santa Cruz Cooperative School) and sophomores Mary Fraley (Cleveland/Mayfield) and Alex Wiedemann (Medina).

Joining BW this season is freshman Kaitlynn Olak (Norwalk/St. Paul).

As the collegiate golf season is split into a fall and a spring schedule, the Yellow Jackets tee off with their only home tournament of the fall, the BW Invitational, on August 31-September 1 at Mallard Creek Golf Club in Columbia Station.
